ROSH PINAH AT A GLANCE
A Bit of Background
Rosh Pinah is a faith based community serving both Jewish and non-Jewish people who seek to worship the God of Israel. We teach the whole Word of God and it’s expression in our lives, fully centered on the Jewish Messiah Yeshua.
We meet every Wednesday evening at 6:30PM for Bible Study and every Friday evening at 6:30PM for our weekly Erev Shabbat Service.
Friday Night Live!
Join us at 6:30PM every Friday for a friendly and Spirit-filled service as we observe and celebrate the first of the Appointed times of the Lord - Shabbat
“Behold how good and pleasant it is when brothers and sisters
dwell together in unity!”(Psalm 133)
At Rosh Pinah we desire to blend some of the ancient traditions and blessings of Israel
with a contemporary and welcoming style of fellowship. Our worship includes some
traditional Jewish liturgy as well as a mixture of Messianic Jewish and contemporary
"So the heavens and the earth were completed along with their entire array. God completed—on the seventh day—His work that He made, and He ceased—on the seventh day—from all His work that He made. Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, for on it He ceased from all His work that God created for the purpose of preparing."
- Gen 2:1-3
"Yeshua returned in the power of the Ruach to the Galilee, and news about Him went out through all the surrounding region. He taught in their synagogues, and everyone was praising Him. And He came to Natzeret, where He had been raised. As was His custom, He went into the synagogue on Shabbat,"
- Luke 4:14-16
Join us every Wednesday evening at 6:30 in person or live on Facebook for our weekly Torah study and a time of prayer and intercession.
“Open my eyes, that I may see wondrous things form Your Torah.” (Psalm 119:118)
One of the most amazing discoveries, which can be made, is that the ancient texts of the
bible really do contain messages for you and I and the world we live in today!
"The whole megillah!"
The first five books of the bible known collectively as the Torah are truly the foundation
of the rest of the writings of the bible. As such we meet weekly to have a study and
discussion of the weekly parsha or Torah reading. As the psalmist wrote: “the entrance of
your word gives light”(Psalm 119:130) Come and join us as we enter into the words of
Torah and discover their centrality to the Good News of Messiah.
When Yeshua was asked what the greatest of all of the commandments in the Torah was
He replied by quoting the Shema of Deuteronomy 6, which says, “Hear O Israel Adonai
Your God, Adonai is One.” In this ancient declaration of faith of Israel God goes on to tell
the Israelites to teach the Torah (literally the instructions) to their children.
At Rosh Pinah we provide a safe and fun place where children can come and learn all of
the wonderful stories of the bible in their original context. By the way, do you know of
any other Messianic fellowship that has a bowling alley?
THE APPOINTED TIMES
It is fascinating to discover that the creation and placement of the sun, moon and stars, is
very much connected to God’s calendar of appointed times. Genesis 1:14 reads: Then God
said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night;
and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years…The word translated as
seasons is actually the Hebrew word mo’adim which later is used to describe the
appointed times of the Lord.
At Rosh Pinah we know that there is a tremendous blessing in tuning into the timings of
the Lord as described in the text of the bible. There is a great deal of significance to be
found in these appointed times for both the Jewish people and also for all those from the
nations who want to worship God in Spirit and in truth.
One of the ways that we do this is to come together on Erev Shabbat to welcome and
celebrate the first of all of the appointed times – the Sabbath.
We also observe and celebrate together the other appointed times yearly. Such as Pesach
– Passover, Shavuot, Sukkot etc.
